CallWave announced today the availability of the CallWave Vtxt service, free to beta users at CallWave . Starting today, subscribers can sign-up for Vtxt and receive the “gist” of mobile phone voicemail delivered to their handsets in one text message – without changing their mobile phone, number, or wireless service provider. callwave_bug

Features include:

  • Read the gist of a mobile voicemail on your handset.
  • Manage and reply to voice and text messages from a personal web page.
  • Search a permanent archive of voice and text messages.
  • No change in phone number, device, or service provider is required.

Vtxt is part of CallWave’s modernized voicemail offering that delivers a complete handset-to-desktop solution. The experience begins on the handset when a call has been missed or avoided and a voicemail message is left. CallWave subscribers immediately get a Gist text of the voicemail, where they can read the summary of the message. The experience then extends to the desktop, where the full transcription and audio file of the voicemail arrives via email and the newly available Vtxt PhonePage. PhonePage, a personalized web portal, offers a permanent, searchable archive of voice and text messages and the ability to reply to callers by text or voice – right from the Web. PhonePage also automatically creates a contact book based on the calls received.
