… according to TomTheGeek and I agree.

8925

The iPhone has been out for a while and has done very well, probably better than Apple’s wildest expectations.  It is a great Toy, does a lot of neat stuff, has a wonderful interface but it still is missing too much.  So with rumors of the 8925 coming out in August, those of us that want the functionality of a Windows Mobile 6 device coupled with a very cool flip up screen that reveals a great keypad, the wait will not be too long.

I have and use the 8525 and love it!  The 8925 will be a clear upgrade jumping to 128 MB of RAM and a great 3 megapixel camera.  I liked Tom’s thoughts particularly this:

The iPhone sacrifices functionality for usability which is great for the tech illiterate but for anyone with a brain the Cingular 8925 (on the left) has every feature the iPhone has plus more at about the same price.

Now it is actually less than the iPhone because there will most likely be a subsidy with a two year agreement.  My guess is tha the release may well be a month (or two) later than expected … why?  The iPhone is too hot to introduce another device at this moment.
