It\'s is possible that the information within this article is now out of date or updated.

goog If you do not, then this is a very cool way to find and connect to local businesses on the go.  This is one number you want to keep on your auto dial list … it is a very cool service.  So what can you do with Google Voice Local Search?

Using this service, you can:

  • Can’t stand typing? Let your fingers rest – GOOG-411 will understand your voice and find the business you’re looking for. You can search by name (”Giovanni’s pizza”) or category (”Pizza”).
  • No need to write down a note or memorize long phone numbers. GOOG-411 lets you connect to the business you choose, free of charge.
  • get the details by SMS if you?re using a mobile phone.
    Just say “text message”.

And it’s free. Google doesn?t charge you a thing for the call or for connecting you to the business. Regular phone charges may apply, based on your telephone service provider.

Note: Google Voice Local Search is still in its experimental stage. It may not be available at all times and may not work for all users. We?re fine-tuning the service to get better at recognizing your requests. It?s currently only available in English, in the US, for US business listings.
