hello-world-iphone Engadget Mobile is reporting that a “dedicated hacker who goes by “Nightwatch” has compiled and launched the iPhone’s very first independent “Hello World” application”.

Well this could be the REAL BEGINNING for 3rd party applications to run on what was (and is) considered as a closed device. The proposed “web” apps were a start to getting applications but that alone is not enough for this device to become truly a universal business phone as well as a consumer phone.

It is a great Toy … very nicely designed, does a lot of cool things but it does not come close to the productivity that can be experienced with a Windows Mobile Device, a RIM device or a Palm OS device.

But all this will change if you can get an application on it to allow you to perform a task WITHOUT having to be connected.  Click the link above to see what Engadget had to say.
