n900 I know, there are a lot of folks that have the N800 and want (and I’m not sure why) a retractable keyboard so evidently Nokia might be listening and might be coming up with a new iteration of the N800 (possibly called the N900??).  Engadget reported that there were no specs yet but the prototype picture that they got shows a keyboard with relocated navigation controls.

The size of the current version (meaning “thickness”) is perfect, easy to carry and comfortable to hold.  The addition of a slide out keyboard just might change the experience …. and with the addition of a real keyboard would the current “finger keypad” that appears if you touch the screen disappear?  I hope not.  The dual keypad that is currently being used (stylus and finger) works … and works well.

hey, it’s a prototype … many changes in the design will occur before reality sets in and knowing Nokia and their design team, it will work.  You know, if it had the ability to have a SIM card then maybe it might not be a bad idea … hmmm.
