Verizon Treo 700p Update (version 1.10)

Posted July 12, 2007: The Verizon Treo 700p Update installs the latest software on your smartphone. It is a ROM update. Most users will spend about 30 minutes to complete this process. Windows XP and 2000 users will install the update through a desktop wizard. Windows Vista, Mac, and IT/Enterprise users will copy the installer files to an SD/MMC expansion card and insert the card into the smartphone to start the update.

System Requirements

• Palm Treo 700p smartphone on the Verizon network. This software will not work on any other Treo smartphones.
• Smartphone must be connected to power adapter and the sync cable while the update is running.
• Windows XP, 2000 only: 20-24MB free space on device. This update requires at least 20 MB free memory available on your smartphone. Palm recommends 24MB of free space to ensure proper operation. Check free memory.
• Windows Vista, Mac, and IT/Enterprise only: Blank SD/MMC expansion card¹ and card reader

Do you need this update?

• On your Treo 700p, press Phone
• Press Menu
• From the Options menu, select Phone Info.
• Look for the Software: item:
• If the version number is lower than 1.10 and the end of the string says VZW, you should install this update.
• If you see anything else, do not install this update.

Verizon Treo 700w/wx Updater (version 1.22)

Posted July 12, 2007: The Treo 700w/wx Updater v1.22 installs the latest software on your smartphone. It is designed to update your device while preserving your data. In some instances, user set preferences may not be retained after updating.

System Requirements

• Palm Treo 700w or 700wx smartphone for Verizon Wireless. *
• Windows 2000 SP4, Windows XP SP2, or Windows Vista
• Internet Explorer version 6 or higher on desktop PC
• ActiveSync 4.2 or later installed for Windows 2000 or XP (WMDC installed for Vista)
• Smartphone must have at least 4MB of Program Memory & 4MB of Storage Memory available.
• Smartphone must be connected to AC power adapter and the sync cable throughout the update.

* Note – This software will not work on any other Windows Mobile devices

Do you need this update?

1. Press Start and Select Settings.
2. Select the System tab. Open About. Go to the Phone tab.
3. Look at the Software Version. What do you see?

   TREO700W-1.02-VZW:
   TREO700W-1.10-VZW:
   TREO700WX-1.20-VZW:

   If any of the above are listed, Yes, you should install this update.
