IOGEAR’s New Portable Gadgets Fit in Any Student’s Backpack

The Wallet Drive ($69.95 MSRP) provides 4 gigabytes of portable storage, and at 3mm thick and smaller than a business card, is ideal for on-the-go use. The product includes security software, maximizing the protection of important data, such as research projects and presentations. In addition, it allows students to bring their data to any classroom or computer lab to collaborate on projects or share music and pictures.
The 4GB Flash Wallet Drive supports Windows ReadyBoost(TM), a newprogram on the Windows Vista(TM) platform that increases system performanceby accessing memory capacity from external sources. The product plugs intoand supports USB 2.0 and 1.1 ports, and is compatible with Macintosh,Microsoft Windows and Sun operating systems. Smart Security software isincluded for Windows users.
The 3-in-1 Wireless Phaser Presentation Mouse ($59.95 MSRP) offers a laser pointer, track ball for wireless use and optical capabilities for desktop computing. Interoperable with PCs and Macs, the unit communicates with a USB receiver up to 30 feet away, ideal for making computer-based presentations in the classroom. Additionally, the track ball on top of the mouse enables it to be used in the palm of one’s hand. On a solid surface, the mouse can switch into optical mode, and operates between 800-1600 dpi to accommodate the user’s preference. The surface is covered with Nano Coating, consisting of a Titanium Dioxide and Silver nano-particle compound that contains antimicrobial properties to prevent bacteria from surviving on the product.
These products join the Digital Scribe, a recently launched product that assists students in backing up their notes by transferring handwriting and drawings from plain paper to a PC. Now, longhand memos can be translated into digital text and stored for easy editing, including those written in cursive. It can also capture shapes and sketches and export them as JPEG images, eliminating the hassle of using cumbersome drawing tools on a computer.
