The N95 has got to be one of my favorite devices. It is packed with features and functionality that no other device has and it is soon to get even better! Om Malik from GigaOM had a piece up on the Nokia N95 will be getting US 3G Support. He had a conversation with Blake Krikorian, CEO and co-founder of Sling Media, about newteevee.
What was interesting was that Blake was showing off the streams off his cable box using the N95. It was a smooth video, better than one would expect and the reason why was that the N95 he was using was a trial unit that supported the U.S. flavor of 3G (HSPDA-High-Speed Downlink Packet Access). Very cool!
A few calls to well-placed sources after the taping confirmed that Nokia has plans to release the U.S.-optimized N95 this September. That would be a good catalyst for U.S. sales for N95, because this is a device that shines on 3G networks. I took it along on a trip recently and found it quite useful.
There is a reason why this device is a HUGE seller … it is just packed with the ability to do virtually everything you want to do and coupled with the N800 Internet device, it is a perfect way to Experience Mobility. I’m looking forward to seeing the updated version of the N95 … it will be a HUGE success!
