Leap Wireless  and Samsung announced the availability of the Samsung u340, a versatile clamshell phone for Cricket customers.

Ideal for popular services such as Mobile Web and Cricket Games & Apps, the u340 features SMS/MMS capabilities, a VGA digital camera, high-resolution internal and external displays and personal planning tools, including a calendar, to-do list and an alarm clock. The u340 comes in Jaguar Blue.

The u340 is compatible with Cricket’s nationwide roaming service, and with Mobile WEB Browser access; users can email/chat with their friends and family and can browse for their favorite entertainment, sports, news, and weather. Also, with Mobile WEB Storefront, users can personalize their phone with a large selection of ringtones and graphics. Cricket customers can also get their favorite games with Cricket Games & Apps directly over the air. In addition to the planner, productivity tools include a calculator, stopwatch, tip calculator, countdown timer, and voice memos.

The Samsung u340 is available at select Cricket retail stores and Cricket dealers immediately for $149.99.
