CallWave Celebrates One Million Vtxt GIST Transcriptions

In just two months, world?s first and only summarized voicemail-to-text service hits industry milestone

Success continues with one million CallWave widget downloads

cw1CallWave, Inc. today reached a new milestone with its recently launched Vtxt service, hitting one million voicemail-to-text transcriptions in just two months.

This marks consumers’ quick and positive response to CallWave?s unique Vtxt “GIST” offering - the first and only summarized voice-to-text transcription service for mobile phone voicemail. CallWave makes it easy for users to sign up at callwave.com using their existing handset, phone number, and service provider - and at no cost to them during the Beta period.

More after the break

Leveraging proprietary speech recognition technology, GIST identifies and pulls key words and phrases, creating a summarized transcription that delivers the “gist” of a voicemail in one text message, making it easy to identify if a message is urgent or not.  Users can then quickly scan, prioritize and read voicemail - without scrolling several texts containing word-for-word transcriptions.  There are no human operators involved, so messages remain completely secure and private.

The CallWave GIST design is based upon the way busy prosumers and email centric Internet users manage their voicemail and mobile email.  Often times, they reply to a missed message without ever, or only partially, listening to the voicemail.  And like mobile email, they want to be able to fully review, search and find complete messages on their desktop if they skipped something on the handheld.

For mobile users who require a more complete translation of a voicemail, the CallWave service gives users a full transcription and audio file of voicemail in their email along with the ability to manage voicemail and Vtxt messages via a first-of-its-kind web portal, CallWave Phone Page.  This personalized portal has unlimited storage and allows users to read, listen to, save, search and reply to messages, via text or callback, right from the PC.

CallWave also celebrates a second milestone ? as the company announced it has surpassed one million widget downloads since late December 2006.  Consumers are using the free CallWave widgets to send text messages and manage mobile phone voicemail ? all from the convenience of their desktop.
