A few days ago I commented about the Celio Redfly adding support for BlackBerrys. I came across that bit of information first while researching to purchase a Celio RedFly myself and then while I’ve been …

colormeblack I saw on jkOnTheRun that according to WirelessInfo.com the N95 that folks were hoping for (The BLACK Version) is supposedly NOT coming to the US but it still was a very busy day for Nokia.

Another version of the N95 just got the nod from the FCC and this one is a quad-band GSM phone supporting the US 3G bands. WirelessInfo.com passed on the following information:

- This new model (which Nokia calls the N95-3) supports 4 GSM bands: 800Mhz, 850Mhz, 1900Mhz and 1950MHz. That means it’ll work with all of the US GSM bands, plus international ones
- It supports the two WCDMA bands that are used for 3G data in the US by AT&T: 850MHz and 1900MHz. T-Mobile are going with the 1700MHz band, so this model won’t work with their forthcoming network.
- This model doesn’t have the 8GB of flash memory, but it does have a MicroSD card slot.
- There is no indication from the documents if the RAM has been expanded, but we’ve heard from other sources that it has.
- There’s some confusion on the battery: the FCC documents mention the BL-6F battery, which has a 1200mAh charge. But the manual mentions the BL-5F battery, which is the one that was with the original N95 that only holds 950maH of charge. We’re looking into this; watch out here for an update soon.

So just in case you REALLY REALLY wanted a BLACK N95, you now know why I used the picture above.  You can print out this page, color the N95 carefully with you BEST black pen and send it off to Nokia asking for a BLACK US version … or if it comes out really good, you can leave it on your refrigerator door!

Nokia … PLEASE color one BLACK for the US!!
