m800_2In the US, we are all excited about the at&t coming of the HTC TyTN II, the at&t Tilt. Well, Pocketinfo.nl has the word on the ETEN Contender, The Glofiish M800.

Some specifications:

  • 500 MHz Samsung processor
  • 256 MB ROM
  • 2 cameras
  • VGA display
  • Windows Mobile 6 Professional (i.e. Windows Mobile 6 for touch-screens)
  • HSDPA / UMTS
  • SiRFstar III GPS chip
  • 1530 mAh battery
  • available since November 2007
  • expected price: 599 to 629 Euro
  • standard 2.5 mm stereo headset connector

Looks like it has everything that the TyTN II has, just a bigger battery and a VGA Screen. ( Hello Axim users that have been waiting for a converged device that isn’t too big with VGA) I haven’t been sold on the build quality of previous ETEN offerings, but always willing to give a company another chance, especially when the specs are so nice!

Looks like this should be released in November 2007.

But the major component as to why the Tilt is better is value. If AT&T; or another carrier wrapped the device in the plan for a similar 8925/Tilt price of 299, that would be saying something. But at 842.00 US, it's a little pricey for just a VGA screen. Because essentially, that's the only difference. The Tilt has a better camera, and a very impressive processor. I would like to see some benchmarking on how much better if any, the 500mhz is over the 400 in the Tilt.
