Sandisk’s Carmella Lyman to Microsoft…

carmellalyman …I’ll shave my head if the Zune gets to #2.

Last week, in an open letter to Microsoft President Robbie Bach, I offered to shave my head if, after the holiday 2007 market share data is tallied, Microsoft’s share of the portable digital media player market puts its Zune-branded players in 2nd place ahead of the current 2nd place holder SanDisk. A recent Bloomberg report quotes Bach as pledging that Microsoft will be in the #2 spot by the time the holidays are over.

If you want to see Carmella on video to see how long her hair is, here is a video of her with David Berlind of ZDnet.

Well, this is interesting to me since I really love the Zune concept, but on the same token, I really support the efforts of Sandisk too. I have just as many Sandisk players as I do Zunes also, 3 each. I hate to see either of them lose.

Well just to make it fun, I will make a promise too. If Carmella has to shave her head (even if she doesn’t actually follows through), I will go out and get a Zune Tattoo on my left arm. Seriously. Let me know Carmella.

Good Luck Carmella.
