For road warriors, students and anyone else who needs to protect their laptop computer, the bag or backpack they use must be sturdy. But there’s nothing that says they can’t also look good at the same time.

A new line of products from Skooba Design embraces form and function,
not to mention color and bold graphics. Among them:

The Skooba Shuttle, a lightweight, yet highly protective and stylish laptop backpack. It features Skooba’s Air Square protection system of air- filled cells in the laptop compartment, padded/ventilated back panel, shock- absorbing top handles, and wide-base design, allowing it to remain
upright unassisted.

The Skooba Skreener, a messenger-style bag with a very noticeable twist — the front flap is printed with an actual, airport-type X-ray graphic of items typically found in laptop/ travel bags. Despite the fun motif, the bags are all business, with Air Square laptop protection, dual audio pockets, expandable main compartment, and more.

The “DIY” (Design it Yourself) Skooba Skin is made of blank canvas, which can be decorated by the owner, and the new “micro” size Skin for ultraportable laptops expands the total size/color/fabric choices to 32. “Customers love having the option of getting a laptop sleeve in brown corduroy, pink vinyl, or blue suede,” says company spokesperson Lorri Diggory.

The Skooba Satchel 2.0 and Seventeen 2.0 are full-featured laptop bags that have been updated with patent-pending Superbungee shoulder straps. The strap features a “sport-tuned suspension system,” which works like a shock absorber to make carrying the load easier on the back and shoulders. The strap is also offered separately, to upgrade other bags or luggage. “When we started designing the Superbungee, we were shooting for ‘NASA-worthy’ shoulder straps,” Diggory says. “We’re very pleased with the results.”

The new Skooba products carry suggested retail from $26 to $140. For more information, visit http://www.skoobadesign.com.
