Tracky is an off-road navigation utility. Use it for hiking, biking, skiing, driving, sailing, scuba diving, golf, city trips, or geo-caching.
The last couple of years, enormous improvements have been made in navigation tools. The formerly very expensive built-in devices have been replaced by the now commonly available, low-priced, handheld solutions. A very popular choice is to use a general purpose PDA for navigation, so that only navigation software and an external GPS unit needs to be bought. The latest PDA models often feature a built-in GPS, leaving you to select suitable navigation software only.
Most focus has been on on-road navigation tools. Given built-in street maps, these tools can easily navigate you from one address to an other. However when taken off-road (in the woods, on water, in the mountains, etc.) their usefulness drops severely, leaving not much more functionality then an electronic compass. Here, off-road navigation tools step in, of which Tracky is a good example. Tracky is off-road navigation software that runs on your PDA.
