Now Prepay Customers Have Access to V CAST Music, VZ Navigator and More

image Verizon Wireless has announced new INpulse prepay plans designed to fit customers’ lifestyles – from the occasional to the most frequent caller – with rates as low as 2 cents per minute for voice calls and text messages. The new plans, INpulse Core, INpulse Plus and INpulse Power, charge customers a daily access fee only on the days of use and include Unlimited IN Calling to Verizon Wireless customers nationwide. Customers may select any of the new plans beginning November 1.

All of the new INpulse plans provide customers with many of the same service options enjoyed by Verizon Wireless customers who sign annual contracts. Key to the new plans is the ability of customers to pair the service with V CAST-capable phones and purchase over-the-air directly from their handsets any of the 2.1 million songs in the V CAST Music library. They can also purchase Ringtones, Ringback tones, Mobile Web 2.0SM, games and other applications, such as VZ NavigatorSM using funds in their INpulse accounts.

The new INpulse plans are as follows:

INpulse Core

  • Daily Access (charged only on days the service is used) – 99 cents
  • Unlimited IN Calling (calls may be made to or received from any Verizon Wireless phone) – Unlimited
  • Night Minutes (valid for calls from 9:01 p.m. to 5:59 a.m., Sunday through Saturday) – 10 cents
  • Per Minute & Text Messaging Rates (valid for calls from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Sunday through Saturday) – 10 cents

INpulse Plus

  • Daily Access (charged only on days the service is used) – $1.99
  • Unlimited IN Calling (calls may be made to or received from any Verizon Wireless phone) – Unlimited
  • Night Minutes (valid for calls from 9:01 p.m. to 5:59 a.m., Sunday through Saturday) - Unlimited
  • Per Minute & Text Messaging Rates (valid for calls from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Sunday through Saturday) - 5 cents

INpulse Power

  • Daily Access (charged only on days the service is used) – $2.99
  • Unlimited IN Calling (calls may be made to or received from any Verizon Wireless phone) - Unlimited
  • Night Minutes (valid for calls from 9:01 p.m. to 5:59 a.m., Sunday through Saturday) - Unlimited
  • Per Minute & Text Messaging Rates (valid for calls from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Sunday through Saturday) – 2 cents

INpulse Phones
The new INpulse plans will be pre-packaged with cool phones, but customers can also select from the Verizon Wireless portfolio of phones – including V CAST-capable devices – to use with the new prepay calling plans. Customers who set up an INpulse account with an initial payment of $15 may purchase any Verizon Wireless phone (excluding smartphones, PDAs) at the same price as Verizon Wireless customers who sign a one-year customer agreement. In addition, INpulse Core, INpulse Plus and INpulse Power customers who decide later to move to monthly postpay customer agreements may now keep their INpulse prepay phone numbers when they switch plans. INpulse account balances will be used as a credit toward the new postpay monthly customer agreement.

Verizon Wireless offers the following pre-packaged phones and INpulse service that includes $10 of airtime at activation:

  • Samsung SCH-u340 – an easy to use voice-centric clamshell phone, perfect for the customer who also wants the options of a camera and text, picture and video messaging. With INpulse, the Samsung SCH-u340 is available for $59.99.
  • Samsung SCH-a870 – this classy clamshell is loaded with unexpected features, such as Get It Now – the virtual shopping mall featuring thousands of downloadable games and productivity tools – Mobile Web 2.0 access and Bluetooth for wireless headset use. With INpulse, the Samsung SCH-a870 is available for $79.99.
  • Motorola RAZR V3m – The ultimate in style and performance, this phone is in a class by itself. It comes packed with features such as V CAST Video and Music, voice dialing, Get It Now downloadable applications, Bluetooth headset capability, a 1.3 megapixel camera, and text, picture, and video messaging capabilities. The RAZR V3m is available with INpulse for $149.99.

The new INpulse plans are available beginning tomorrow at Verizon Wireless Communications Stores, including those in Circuit City, as well as Best Buy, Wal-Mart, and other retail locations. Customers are able to add money to their prepay accounts 24-hours per day from their phones or in person at more than 160,000 locations nationwide. INpulse customers can go to My Account from the Settings and Tools menu screen on their Verizon Wireless phones to check their balances, find payment locations, make payments and view usage details, making it easier than ever for customers to manage their accounts.

To get INpulse from Verizon Wireless, customers may call customer service at 1-800-2 JOIN IN, dial *611 from their Verizon Wireless phones, go to www.verizonwireless.com or visit a Verizon Wireless Communications Store or other authorized retailer. Existing INpulse customers may switch to the new plans immediately by calling Verizon Wireless and requesting the new service.
