Are you soooo excited for Black Friday?  Whatchagonnaget?  What stores you hitting?  Wait a sec, are you actually going to brick and mortar stores to shop?  You might want to bring some armor and travel in groups.  Why groups?  According to Dory Devlin at Yahoo!, "If you’re going after one particular item, split up, fan out, and see who finds it first and at the best price."

The smart money, however, is on web shopping.  Check out all the Black Friday websites such as Black Friday AdsThe Black Friday, http://blackfriday.gottadeal.com/, Dealnews and Bargainist.

Figure out what you want before you shop.  Don’t get suckered into bait and switch deals, like the Best Buy deal offering a Toshiba A135 laptop and printer combo for $229.  Supposedly each store has a minimum of 20 available, but if you don’t sleep on the sidewalk overnight, you’re probably not going to score one, which means you may be tempted to get the next best thing, which will cost alot more and still not have decent performance.  And that’s what companies like Best Buy count on.

Buying gifts is one thing, but if you are truly looking for deals wait until the day after Christmas.  The prices will be even better!  Or if you’re as smart as my wife, you will have scoped out great deals over the last couple of months and already be done with the shopping.
