The Treo 750 Updater 2.25 for AT&T smartphones is out and it brought great joy to those of us that have the Treo and have been anxiously awaiting the update.  Yeah, there have been "hacked" versions out there but I wanted to wait for the "official" version …. it seemed to take forever but it is here, it is right and so now we can enjoy the benefits of  WM6 on our Treos.

But wait …. if it won’t download, you can’t use it!

And such was the case for me last night.  I went to the Palm download site, entered my serial number and I kept getting an error saying there was missing info.  I was bummed! I tried it several time with no luck so it was late, I went to bed and this morning I tried it again with of course the same results.  I called AT&T and spoke to a rep who was helpful in trying to resolve it but of course he really didn’t know anything about  the update.  He soon put me on hold, contacted Palm then conferenced the call.

The Palm tech was terrific!  She indicated that she would be a moment, put me on hold, generated a NEW serial number and got back to me within a minute.  I entered the serial number and I was good to go!  It was a fast download and I can now go through the update process ….. but I have to wait.  I’m on my way out the door for a short trip up north so I’ll just think about the goodness I’ll be experiencing tonight on my 750!

A TIP of the HAT to Palm for being so fast in the resolution! (and a special thanks to AT&T for being supportive and helping resolve the issue)
