Last week, I got an email from a fellow Mobile Device MVP, Brandon Miniman. Knowing that I am working on a review of the Samsung BlackJack II, he asked me to check something for him. He asked me to look and see if the number shortcuts in the menus were there. I couldn’t answer without looking since I don’t use them. Sure enough, the were gone. There is space where they should be, but they are missing. I reported back and with what he discovered, he reported this flaw to the masses. In addition, he also figured out a registry edit to fix this.

It requires some registry editing, so if you’re down with that, then here you go (from PocketNow):

Change the value “HasKeyboard” under
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Shell
‘0′ will show 1-9 accelerators, and ‘1′ will show letter-based accelerators.

In this photo, the BlackJack is on the left and the BlackJack II is on the right.
