HTC MINI USB to 3.5mm STEREO HEADSET ADAPTER

bdb5_1 I have been looking for a way to use my Tilt to input into a my car audio for the last couple of weeks and I have finally found what I think is perfect for my needs and thought I would share it!

The problem I was having was the USB connector on all of the other brands was always at a 90 degree angle and caused problems with my HTC  splitter. (pictured below) This would not allow me to use the auxiliary power cord to plug in with. Obviously not a good thing. So when I ran into the Wireless Toy EMU_SplitterStore on eBay and found their HTC MINI USB to 3.5mm STEREO HEADSET ADAPTER I had to get it. The cost was $9.98 with $2.99 for shipping via US Mail.

I have asked Santa Claus for a new Pioneer Car CD Player Detachable Face MP3 DEH-1900MP. I know there are better brands or even a better Pioneer Radios, but this one does everything I need it to and also has a Green Illumination that matched my dashboard and instrument panel in my Toyota Tundra. (But it’s 0001256284039_500X500important to me! LOL) I am tired of burning CD’s and having them get destroyed. I use  my Tilt for a music player and this will allow me to use the cool HTC plug in from my car mount to play my music. The other upside is for GPS navigation. I will now be able to actually hear the GPS Voice Directions where it was hard for me to hear from the Tilt’s speaker. I think this will be a really slick setup and I cannot wait to test it out. I am going to have to think of a way to keep the cords out of the way, but it should not be all the hard.

Love to get some feedback on this setup and if anyone is using a BT Car Audio along with their Tilt please post a comment on your setup!

I have just the opposite problem. My car audio has a mini-USB aux in. I want to be able to connect and listen to my iPod (and it would be grand to charge as well). Will this adapter work in the opposite direction? Is there any other adaptors or cables that could solve this problem?

What do you all think about this one? http://www.daydeal.com/product.php?productid=15...

Note: After looking at the website a little closer, this will not work with my Car Mount for the Tilt. I need to straight access the mini-usb through the two bottom support brackets.

D: Great Find! That is a much cleaner looking adapter than the setup I am using. I will post that as well to give the other Tilt users an option!

I've been doing this for years with other devices. I have a suction cup window mount. I use this adapter http://www.semsons.com/2miusband3st.html to connect a charger and a casette adapter and I'm good to go. I like this adapter because it doesn't have a cord, it's just a nub at the bottom of my Tilt. But it works well.

The ideal, of course, would be to have a car stereo to which I could stream music over bluetooth. Until then, this is a good alternative.

I thought about getting an FM Transmitter also, but I liked being able to use a cord. If I would have had the right cord last week I could have used it on my rental car. Bummer.

My setup is pretty basic. I have my TyTN II in a proclip holder/mount (the passive one.) If I don't need sound I just plug the car charger in directly, but if I need sound I use an HTC splitter that splits to mini USB and 3.5mm. I then plug the charger and a cassette adapter into the splitter. (Yes, I have the cassette adapter instead of the FM transmitter, but I feel like I get better sound quality that way.)
It suits my needs. I listen to books a lot on my commute to and from work.
