Apple kicked off the Macworld Expo with the announcement of the new Apple MacBook Air.  The ultrathin notebook is .76″ at it’s widest and tapers to a meager .16″ at it’s base.  It weights a mere 3 pounds, has a backlit screen and a very unique multi-touch trackpad that sports the ability to rotate photos.

It has good specs as well, including a 1.6 or 1.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB ram and an 80 GB hard drive (or 64 GB SSD).  It only has one USB port and no optical drive, and is priced at a reasonable $1799.  It ships in 2 weeks.

“Air” Jordan would be proud.
