Are you serious about taking notes?

All of us have faced the dilemma of being in a meeting (or lecture hall) where the speaker is presenting so much information that it is virtually impossible to keep up with your notes.  I can remember years ago taking a voice recorder to class to catch that all important information during a Biology lecture and remember all too well how difficult it was to find a particular piece of the lecture.

Livescribe is a new product that will allow to easily take notes and Never Miss A Word!  That’s right … NEVER!  When I first saw this device I was amazed at its potential and as I look at the capabilities, this is device that is well worth having in your gear bag to capture EVERYTHING at that all important meeting in a slick, non obtrusive fashion.

Just slightly larger than a Montblanc, Livescribe’s smartpen is designed to replace the everyday pen as a user’s primary writing instrument. Leveraging recent breakthroughs in memory, storage, microprocessors, connectivity and component size, the smartpen is an advanced paper-based computer, with both audio and visual feedback, powerful processing capabilities and substantial built-in storage.

So how does it work?  Dot Paper with Dot Positioning System (DPS)

You write on paper that has a unique pattern of dots (barely visible). The dots allow the pen to track the smartpen’s movement with an end result of being able to accurately retrieve all that was said instantaneously.  You need to see the video demonstration to appreciate the power and potential of the device.  After seeing it, I am sure you will be very impressed.
