Looks like I picked a good year to sit it out. A few things prevented me from attending CES this year. I say every year that I won’t be going, but I always end up hopping a plane last minute. This year, I didn’t lie.

Anyhow, our very own Jack Cook is out on the floor snapping photos and talking with vendors. Until he straightens out his connection woes in Las Vegas, we will do what we can to cover CES from here. If you haven’t noticed, Susan has been a machine. She is sharing press releases quicker than the companies can put them out.

One of the best things about CES, CTIA, and other shows is the Pepcom events. The Digital Focus Media Event for CES and Mobile Focus at CTIA. These are top notch mini shows within the big show. I love them because they have a lot of what I come to cover in one smaller place and it’s much more intimate with the reps from companies. One of my friends shows us a couple photos from this years Digital Focus. Matt is a former moderator (palmsolo) in the iPaqHQ forums and now goes by The Mobile Gadgeteer  at ZDNet.com.

It looks and sounds from Matt’s post that there was very little in the form of Windows Mobile Device announcements this year. He did get to play with the mythical iPAQ 210. Come on HP, let’s see this one on the shelves already.
