Add a phone to my Dell X51v and I'll be happy. I don't want a tiny, lo-res screen.

Until they come out with one device that has at least the specs of the x51v that includes a phone I doubt that I will converge. I seem to change phones about every 2 years so that is a problem too. I don't want to have that expense that a convergence device would cost every 2 years.

I just purchased an XV6800. I've found it is both convenient and clunky. I don't think Windows Mobile integrates well with a phone. To make it functional, I installed several 3rd party applications to fix basic Windows Mobile functions. I will continue to carry my Axim x51v or hx4705 and iPod.

While I am not opposed to a converged device, the current state of the available devices makes that an exercise in suboptimizing virtually every aspect of each device.

By choosing separate devices, I can optimize the individual aspects of each device.

For a Pocket PC I require a touch-screen, WiFi, and an a large enough screen that I can easily see my appointments, read ebooks, etc. Also has to have a docking station so I can sync with my PC.

For a phone I require something small, can run a week or more with our recharging if I use it about 30 minutes a day and light enough that it doesn't drag my pants down :)

So far, I haven't found a device that can manage both.

Hmmm, I just upgraded from my X5 (which I got about 4 months after their debut) and now I have a new x51v,
I'm still setting it up, and it has been about 2 or 3 weeks.

As for a phone, I'm using a very simple, reliable SE T637.
EASY to use, good batter life, and phone calls come in clear.

I tried moving everything to my Blackberry a few years ago, and to a 'smartphone' more recently. But my iPod is better at music, PSP/DS are better for games, and my beloved ol' iPaq 4355 is such a great organizer / notetaker / utility player. I'd love to converge ... really I would ... but I'm in no rush.
