It\'s is possible that the information within this article is now out of date or updated.

I wanted to follow-up on a post by rabilancia today about the MSN Direct Technology Preview.  There has been so much news here today, it is easy to miss an item and this was too cool to miss if you have a smartphone.

Steve “fyiguy” Hughes from the BostonPocketPC cued me on this very cool technology preview from Microsoft for accessing MSN Direct content on Windows Mobile-based devices.  Steve said that it looks real nice and it costs nothing to try it but your data connection.

So I tried it on a NEW Motorola Q9m that I was fortunate to get a hold of and it rocks!  I like it … a lot!

Click this BostonPocketPC to read the full press release.  Here is a taste of the release:

“This is the first time MSN Direct content has been made available to mobile phones, and it is a strong next step for the delivery of MSN Direct content where customers have said they need it the most,” said Eric Lang, general manager of the MSN Direct initiative at Microsoft. “We are excited about the opportunities this new application will bring to mobile operators, consumers and the industry.”

It is very cool and if you are interested in trying this MSN Direct preview then from the Web browser on your mobile phone, go to http://phone.msndirect.com and follow the instructions on the page to download and install MSN Direct.

You can also download MSN Direct to your PC and copy it over to your device

That looks great. Thanks for sharing. I wonder how much resource this eats up, since it sits in the home screen.
