Finland-based ICT and automation solution provider Sesca Group has introduced iDial Mobile application, which displays mobile phone user’s availability, location and current presence. Sesca launched the application today in Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the most significant exhibition for the mobile industry.

iDial Mobile application is part of Sesca’s iDial solution which is a converged internet and mobile communication application. With iDial™ Web, also part of the solution, users simply click a button on a web page to place a free VoIP call over the Internet to another computer or any PSTN or GSM network in the world. iDial Web also includes supporting communication methods like chat, e-mail and integrated voicemail.

iDial Mobile completes iDial web application by letting users share their availability, presence and location automatically and in real-time in any selected web page or in the iDial Web application. iDial Mobile application is able to fetch calendar and profile information from the user’s mobile phone. The application shows if the user is in a meeting or if he is available, and the mode of his mobile phone (shut off, meeting or mute mode). iDial Mobile keeps users presence automatically up to date without any need for user interaction.

iDial Mobile application also automatically identifies the nearest WLAN network and shares the location of a user, for example whether he is at his desk, in the cafeteria or in the park close by.

“Today’s enterprises and their organizations are international and geographically wide spread. Workers are mobile and the projects are done in teams which might include customers and partners as well. Efficient operation and communication requires that one knows one’s colleague’s availability, location and presence. We believe that the need for applications like iDial Mobile, which converge internet and mobile phone technology, will grow strongly in the near future,” says Andreas Paschinsky, the product manager for iDial, Sesca Group.

Currently iDial Mobile is available for phones based on Symbian S60 platforms.

Sesca Group can be found in Barcelona at stand 1 F 07. More information on iDial solution on the web page: http://www.idial.fi/
