I am shocked about reading all this today, but we have been hearing the rumors for the last couple years. It’s a natural fit in my opinion. I like the idea.

Even though I use Google for my searching needs, I use so many Yahoo services that are offered. Yahoo has so much to offer. (did you know they own Flickr now too?) My history with Yahoo goes back to the old days of the text directory. It was the only way I could reach ESPN since ESPN’s url had like 5 dots in the url. (this was in like 1994) I have had and still use my Yahoo email address since the same timeframe. I participate in a couple Yahoo groups. I use people search all the time. Yahoo Music, etc… Yahoo is my homepage as well. The point is I love Yahoo and I am so thrilled at the prospect of them being bought out by Microsoft. What do you think?

What do you think of the Microsoft offer to buy Yahoo?

I see 4 possible outcomes to this:

    1. Microsoft buys yahoo. Yahoo becomes an even better service to use

    2. Microsoft buys yahoo. Yahoo goes down in flames.

    3. Microsoft doesn't buy Yahoo. Yahoo continues business as normal.

    4. Microsoft doesn't buy Yahoo. Yahoo after sometime has to close up shop.

I ,as Chris has had, have had a Yahoo account since the 90's. Yahoo did help the Internet grow into what it is today. I would hate to see Yahoo go under, but I have a feeling that it just might. While Yahoo has bought many companies in the recent months, if they don't accept the offer from Microsoft, I don't see Yahoo lasting much longer. Google has become an Internet giant. Yahoo does offer many services, but many are associated with a monthly or yearly cost. Whereas Google offers many of the same services for free. I do hope Yahoo accepts the offer and gives Google more competition.
