qualcomm The Mobile World Congress in Barcelona continues to pump out News and Releases from Mobility Manufacturers that seems to be the near future for technology. Okay, now try not to cringe when I say Qualcomm has released some new Chipsets! Two new series include the QST and QSC Series that both look to be pretty stout! Is that eGPS QSC is sporting? How bout’ that?

The QST Chipsets (QST1000, QST1100, & QST1105) break down as follows:

  • An integrated ARM11 applications processor running at 528 MHz with support for third-party operating systems (Windows Mobile, Win CE and Linux)
  • A comprehensive range of popular audio and video codecs
Rich multimedia features, including camera, video playback at up to VGA resolution, and TV-out
  • Seventh-generation gpsOne engine with support for Standalone-GPS and Assisted-GPS modes, as well as gpsOneXTRA Assistance technology delivering enhanced Standalone-GPS performance
  • Support for Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and FM radio
  • 65 nanometer process technology for enhanced battery life and bill-of-materials savings
  • Ability to interface with Qualcomm’s Universal Broadcast Modem (UBM) solution for MediaFLO, DVB-H and ISDB-T mobile broadcast TV support
  • Wireless WAN connectivity for voice calls and data capabilities (QST1100)
  • Hardware-accelerated 2D/3D graphics core capable of performing up to 2.8 million triangles per second (QST1105)
  • All three are sampling now and are expected to begin launching this year

Remember eGPS? It seems to be the talk of the day around here, but check out the following on the Qualcomm QSC Chipset:

  • 400 MHz ARM 11, delivering powerful processing performance
  • Support for WQVGA video playback and recording with TV-out
  • 5.0 megapixel camera
  • 3D hardware-accelerated graphics
  • Integrated gpsOne baseband and radio
  • Integrated Bluetooth baseband and radio, FM radio and USB 2.0 HS
  • Support for all UMTS bands and quad-band EGPRS, as well as receive diversity for enhanced data throughput performance
  • 12mm x 12mm package
  • Support for downloads of up to 10.2Mbps and uploads of up to 5.76Mbps
  • Scheduled to sample in the first quarter of 2009

Qualcomm looks to be following up with the very nice 7200 series Chipsets that your are sporting around right now in your Tilt/TyTN II. NOW HEAR THIS HTC! PUT THE FREAKIN DRIVERS IN IT!!!!!!
