It\'s is possible that the information within this article is now out of date or updated.

If you are like me you want to customize your today softkeys to launch something other than calendar/contacts.  This can be done by installing a simple control panel program that is missing in the stock AT&T tilt rom.  If your running a cooked rom it’s likely that you already have this control panel applet installed but if you don’t you can still take advantage of this by installing the cab.

The functionality it offers is to allow for remapping alternate programs to the today screen soft keys.  The screenshot below that I have remapped my left soft key to “ceTwit”

customized soft key

To accomplish this you need to download and install the cab file Sharky48 Softkey Changer

After installing you will have a new control panel application that will allow you to choose new functions for your right and left soft keys.

This will give you much quicker access to one or two frequently used programs that you may not wish to map to a button.

I have the Tilt WM 6.1 and This program seems to work, however I have installed Good software which continues to overwrite the contacts.lnk to GOOD Contacts, even though it is pointing to the MS Contacts. I want to use my Outlook contacts, but this is really aggravating me to have to go to the start menu to get my contacts for the phone. Can someone PLEASE Help. The Good software did the same thing with my calendar when I used a shortcut, but when I pointed the left soft key to use windows\calendar.exe it worked. Does anyone know what the exe or dll or name of the contacts file other than contacts.lnk - where does this link point to in WM6.1 ????

I tried this, but as soon as TFT3D loads on my Fuze, it overwrites the key settings and puts them back to Calendar/Contacts. Prior to it loading, I see where it has my changed settings. I also checked key mappings using Advance Config and it has them pointed to correctly there. Something is overwriting it with TFT3D loads. Any suggestions to fix would be appreciated.

Thanks and thanks for the great app!

Nevermind...it was just the initial setup that required a soft reset.

The left soft key, however, will be overwritten with "notification" if you miss a call.

Nice app...Note that it requires a soft reset for the softkey changes to take (mine did at least).
