In a press conference Sunday, Microsoft and Sony Ericsson are teaming up to bring the power of Windows Mobile to Sony Ericsson phones! So, do you think that they will move away from Symbian altogether in the future?

The wheels are already turning too! Engadget is reporting a leak of what could be the 1st of these models. (the image below is my own photochop of the w950i With windows Mobile, not the leaked device)

Microsoft has struck an alliance with Sony Ericsson to deliver handsets using its operating system, a Microsoft executive said Sunday.

The partnership was announced on the eve of the Mobile World Congress, the largest wireless industry conference bringing together more than 50,000 industry executives from some 1,300 companies.

“With Sony Ericsson we are now working with the top five handset makers around the world,” Microsoft product manager John Starkweather said in an interview before the Barcelona wireless conference.

how can i install window mobile on my phone (w910i)
  • Did you read the previous replies? You probably can't. First, the w910i would have to be running an ARM-equivalent processor (it may well be). Second, it would need to have enough Flash ROM to hold Windows Mobile. Third, some Windows Mobile version would need to support the hardware on the phone (you need drivers for things like the phone radio and other hardware). Fourth, you'd need to find a way copy the WM ROM image to the phone and execute the bootloader.

If you want Windows Mobile, you pretty much have to buy a Windows Mobile phone.
