You say you have some extra real estate on your home screen and want a Search Plug-in? Google now has you covered! A pretty handy plug-in, the Google Search Plug-in on your home screen will save you time having to open up Pocket Internet Explorer, or what ever your browser of choice is. Looking at the screen shot of my Tilt to the right, you will notice that when you type something into the search bar, a “search” soft key will appear down in the bottom left. When the search field is empty, it goes back to your default soft key. Mine happens to be “contacts”, something I didn’t want to lose. On the bottom right soft key when something is typed into the Google search field, an “options” soft key appears next to the “search” soft key. From here you can access Google’s Home Screen, Change Locations, Mobile Results, or view some Help. Google Search plug-in for your Mobile Device works pretty well and will save you time. One complaint that I have is when you tap Google Home from the “options” soft key, it takes you to Google Mobile’s Home Screen, but does not sign you in automatically. That would have been a handy feature to have.
To download Google Search Plug-in for your Mobile Device, simply type into your address bar in PIE, or whatever browser you use: mobile.google.com and download it from there. It will automatically install to your main memory. Easy install

From Official Google Mobile Blog:
A few weeks ago, we launched a plug-in for Symbian devices that put a Google search shortcut onto the phone’s home screen. This shortcut reduces the time it takes for you to get answers from Google by eliminating the initial search steps (e.g. finding the browser application, opening it, and navigating to Google.com before entering your query). The same plug-in has been available for BlackBerry devices since last December. Today, we’re making this available for Windows Mobile devices too.
If you’re a Windows Mobile user, browse to mobile.google.com on your device to download the plug-in and start searching faster than ever. Once you do, we think you’ll find it so much faster and easier that you’ll start conducting more mobile web searches than you ever had before. How do we know this? Well, when we look at the combined usage numbers for BlackBerry and Symbian versions of this plug-in, we see that users are able to get Google search results up to 40 percent faster. And, BlackBerry and Symbian users with the plug-in installed search 20 percent more than those without it.
