It’s not often that I give a product I review an “F”. But, the newly released Krusell laptop bags get multiple “F”s for the convergence of Fun, Fashion, and Function; they are clearly Fantastic.

In my workshops for lawyers called “How to be eLegal, eLiterate, and eMobile,” I often hear lady lawyers complain that most companies are fashion blind and should pay more attention to design for the feminine taste. I know one legal lady who has a multitude of laptop bags that she tries to color coordinate with her outfits. Another lady lawyer lamented that styli for Pocket PCs should double as lipsticks. Now here is a market that should not be overlooked.

Krusell must have had a spy in one of my workshops and has responded accordingly. The new Radical Messenger bag comes in a variety of designer colors and combinations that should compliment just about any outfit: dark blue/light blue, orange/white, black/white, black, white, pink, lime-green, and orange.

There are three different designs: Radical Street, Radical Stripe, and Radical Wave, which refer to the artfully embroidered design on the flap front cover.

The bag accommodates up to a 15.4 inch laptop and has a removable, adjustable padded shoulder strap as well as a hand grip. For easy access the flap cover opens without fuss to reveal a padded laptop compartment with a Velcro security strap. There is another adjacent compartment and two large storage pockets on the front inside panel. The flap is secured on the bottom corners with magnetic fasteners.

On the front, under the flap is a large pocket secured by a Velcro fastening. On top of that is an ample zipper pocket with webbed retainers on the sides.

There is a large compartment covering the entire back of the case with a Velcro strip at the top and a zipper opening into the same compartment near the bottom, which seems a strange arrangement, for some clever purpose that remains a mystery to me. It would be ideal for storage of a file folder or two for easy access.

A double zipper that goes ¾ of the way around the bag allows the bag to expand on the bottom to almost double its size to accommodate more storage inside the main compartment.

I’m not sure I have enough self-confidence tote a pink laptop bag, but I would have no trouble proudly packing a black one or a black and white one or a nice navy on blue one.

In any case, the new Radical Messenger line of laptop bags are winning cases.

The compartment on the back with zippers both top and bottom...? When both are open, does this leave a "slot" down the back. If so, this is probably for fitting the laptop bag over the handle on a wheeled suitcase / carry-on bag...
