Nickelodeon, The N and ParentsConnect Mobile Websites to Offer Audiences Fast and Easy Access to Interactive Content Nick Mobile Site to Feature More than 25 Casual Games for Kids

image Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group today announced the launch of three new mobile websites that provide easily accessible information and resources to audiences on wireless devices through branded content from Nickelodeon, The N and ParentsConnect. The new mobile websites focus on Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group’s target demos: kids and tweens, teens and parents, and include a selection of kids’ games, pictures, and flipbooks; teen-oriented quizzes and blogs; and daily parenting tips as well as access to information on local city family activities.

“Our goal at Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group is to create content on all media platforms for our audiences in order to deepen engagement with them,” said Steve Youngwood, Executive Vice President, Digital Media, MTVN/Nickelodeon Kids and Family Group. “Wireless is a growing interactive platform and screen for both kids and families. Tweens today are spending close to four hours each week using mobile web services, and that penetration increases to over 20% for mobile teens at age 13. Penetration is even stronger with parents. With these new WAP sites, we can provide relevant content to all of our audiences whenever they want and wherever they are.”

The Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group’s mobile websites allow audiences quick and easy access to content that suits their interests in a
format that fits their mobile lifestyle.

  • The Nick mobile website is available at wap.nick.com and features easy to access, kid-oriented content including pictures, flipbooks, polls, show and schedule information, as well as a diverse selection of games including: a TEENick “Who is It” picture game; an Avatar: The Last Airbender game; a SpongeBob SquarePants personality quiz; and classic puzzle games such as: Tic-Tac-Toe; Hangman; and many others.  Over the coming months, Nickelodeon, in a partnership with MangoMOBILE, will be developing additional games which will be added to the Nick mobile website, making it one of the most robust mobile games offering available in the wireless market. The Nick mobile website features voting capabilities for Nickelodeon’s 2008 Kids’ Choice Awards, taking place on March 29, 2008.  In second quarter 2008, Nick will launch additional mini-sites on wap.nick.com centered on big network TV events, such as SpongeBob SquarePants Pest of the West in April.
  • The N mobile website, which launches early in second quarter 2008 on wap.the-n.com, builds on the content and community of the teen-oriented website The-N.com.  Among it’s many features are: a mobile version of Rank and other popular games on The-N.com http://www.the-n.com ; the daily N’Sider blog with movie and music news, reviews, and more; personality quizzes (building off of The N’s Quizilla.com); flipbooks and other content related to fan-favorite shows on The N (Degrassi, About A Girl, Saved By the Bell and more); and The N’s on-air schedule. It will allow teens quick and easy access on their wireless devices to the interactive entertainment and editorial content they seek.
  • Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group will also launch a Parent-themed mobile website in the third quarter 2008, building off of the content from its ParentsConnect website http://www.parentsconnect.com . The ParentsConnect mobile website will offer parents and caregivers access via their cell phones to all things parenting related, including daily tips, activities, product recommendations and expert parenting information.  It will also include ParentsConnect’s Webby-Award winning local service, GoCityKids.com, which now covers all of the United States, giving parents access to comprehensive information on local activities, restaurants, playgrounds, and more.
