This has got “April Fools Day” written all over it, but according to Pocket-Lint.com Microsoft will be announcing the Windows Mobile Version 6.1 Operating System on April 1st, 2008. The only scrap of credibility to this article is that WinMo 6.1 has been in every ROM Cooking Chef’s kitchen now for about a month. Check here for more on the leaked ROM and Details about WinMo 6.1.

While “Ho-Hum” is the most popular phrase used to describe Windows Mobile 6.1, the threaded SMS is pretty neat. I guess we will have to wait until next year when Windows Mobile 7 is released for a better upgrade.
