Virgin Mobile to offer customers a slice of ‘liberty’ with new SIM-only tariff

image Virgin Mobile has this week launched ‘The Liberty SIM’ to customers across the UK, offering a fantastic SIM-only deal that means monthly contract-busting rates with close to pre-pay flexibility.

With a monthly rate contract (MRC) of between GBP 15 and GBP 30 and a contract cancellation period of 30 days, Virgin Mobile is giving its customers complete control over how they use their mobile and at a highly competitive price.

  • WANT THE BEST DEAL IN THE BIZ?- A customer wanting to keep their handset and pay a low monthly rate of 15GBP could choose between 300 minutes and 300 texts or 150 minutes and 1000 texts, an industry busting deal at this end of the market.
  • WANT FREEDOM? – ‘The Liberty SIM’ is all about freedom. That’s why the tariff gives customers the freedom to cancel their contract with just 30 days notice. And from 1 April, changes to porting laws mean customers will be able to transfer their existing number from any network to Virgin Mobile in the space of two days.
  • WANT A NEW HANDSET TOO? – SIM-only offers are great for those who love their handsets and want to keep them. But if a Virgin Mobile SIM-only customer decides that they do want a shiny new handset they could have already saved up to GBP 100 thanks to ‘The Liberty SIM’ upgrade allowance. For every GBP 100 a customer spends, Virgin Mobile will give them GBP 10 towards their next phone – up to GBP 100 in total. Virgin Mobile is the only network in the UK to offer this upgrade perk to SIM-only customers.
  • WANT MORE? – Virgin Mobile is always looking to give customers more – that’s why ‘The Liberty SIM’ users get free voicemail retrieval, 24 hours a day. ‘The Liberty SIM’ subscribers also have access to Virgin Mobile’s CRAVE scheme which offers a raft of deals on products and services.

Graeme Oxby, Managing Director of Virgin Mobile commented, “The Liberty SIM represents a fantastic opportunity for cost conscious consumers who don’t want to be tied into a lengthy contract.”

“Many people don’t realise that the supposedly ‘free’ handset they are offered with a monthly contract is actually subsidised by increased monthly rates. Liberty SIM is a great alternative for people who are currently happy with their handset and would rather save 10GBP per month than pay extra for a new phone when there’s nothing wrong with their old one.”

‘The Liberty SIM’ is available from Wednesday 12 March from Virgin Media stores nationwide, online at www.virginmobile.com and over the phone on 0845 600 0070.
