When the EEEPC was first launched it was hailed as the $199 notebook. And we were told that in the UK it was going to be at a price equivelent to that and not the £199 mark. Well today if I want one I'm paying about £249 for the EEEPC and I can buy an HP laptop with 2GB of Ram for £299. Now I know that the HP is bigger and heavier.... but most people if given the choice between the 2 low cost laptops will go for the HP every time. If The EEEPC actually came in at the original £100 price mark I may well have bought 2, but as it is I think this machine and its successor have missed the market they originally went for.
