attlogo I just recently posted about how AT&T is cutting 4600 jobs from there home phone division and adding them back into their wireless division which is the growth for them. Well growth seems to be an understatement when talking about sales revenue for AT&T! Now hold on to your AT&T Tilt before you read on, because these numbers can make the weak at heart a little light headed.

For the first quarter of 2008, AT&T had a revenue growth improvement of 18.3% which translates (take deep breath here) to 11.8 b-b-b-billion dollars! They increased their subscribers by 1.3 million which is an improvement of 8.7% over same period last year. Another amazing number for AT&T was their data revenue grew by a whopping 57.3%! This comes from 620 multimedia text messages and (take another deep breath here) 44 BILLION standard text messages in a single three month period!

With this kind of growth it is safe to say that AT&T will be continuing to push Data Consuming devices at us which almost assures us that the line of 8000 series devices (8125, 8525, 8925) will continue along with that other data device made by some company named after a fruit. Can’t seem to remember the name of them for some strange reason…..
