The HTC Advantage has an awful keyboard.  It is too big for thumb typing and too small for touch typing.  I have been using ZoomBoard, a software keyboard, which is fantastic.  But I have been keeping a close eye on Freedom Input’s Slim Keypad, which was originally due out last November.  That date was moved back to March, and today I checked the site and found that the keyboard is now due out in May.

Check out the vaporware features:

The slimmest lightest keyboard available in the market.
This light ultra slim metallic keypad is lightweight and slips easily into the pocket.

The new Freedom Slim Keypad. Sleek, sexy, small yet fully functional. Not just cool in looks and feel, it will be using both HID and SPP profiles, thus offering a wide range of compatibility with most Smartphones and PDA’s including BlackBerry devices.

The keypad is only 10mm or just over a quarter if an inch thick, and features the popular Motorola RAZR style metal keys with an switched option to back illuminate.

Boy, I hope this thing really comes out in May.

Freedom keyboard 2 and slim keypad are both unusable for Blackberry Storm. Neither has a workable drive for the storm and support doesn't respond to inquiiries. After much difficulty I was finally able to pair the Keyboard, but the slim keypad will not pair at all. I bought the keyboard several months ago and they still don't have a user friendly driver for the storm. I'm in the process of returning the slim keypad, but I'm stuck with the keyboard. The manuals are poorly written and not user friendly; zero tech support.
