Happy Aprils Fool’s Day

aprilfools 1st of all, what can you believe and what can you not believe?

• Would you believe that I am no longer a Windows Mobile Device MVP as of today?
• Would you believe that Windows Mobile 7 will be announced later today?
• Would you believe that after all the great work that Susan has done here, she just up and quit on us?
• Would you believe I got a $14,000 bill from the IRS last week?
• Would you believe that we are finally closing the Aximsite.com side of the house.
• My 5 year old son just passed testing and is now a Black Belt in Taekwodo?
• Would you believe that I love Twitter?
• Would you believe that there will be a ton of Phone announcements on this day?
• Would you believe that Matt Miller, the Mobile Gadgeteer has a secret obsession for Palm devices.
• Would you believe that I saw a leaked photo of the T-Mobile iPhone last week. (I dont post rumors)

There are a lot of things you “CAN” believe on this day, but unfortunately, some you can’t. Later today, I’ll take a look at the comments and see what you believe from my list above and shed light on them. Believe it or not, some are true.

I have tapered off on my April Fools jokes on the sites over the years, but I used to pull some fairly mean ones. Some better than others, but in 2003 and 2004, I put up notices that the site was being shut down. In 2005 I started with some rumor jokes. One year, Aximsite turned into Palmsite.com for a day. Today, thanks to Zaniax, one of the old announcements of shutting down the site was linked to. The post was 5 years old and still got a couple people.

I love this quote from an old wise man, a long time ago. (ok, a young smart man, two minutes ago on twitter…)

I can be a fool all year long… what’s so special about today? ;).

- Kevin Tofel

It’s pretty funny that CTIA starts today, what phone news can we believe? Maybe we can believe it all in a couple day.

• OK, here's what is real...
* Would you believe that I am no longer a Windows Mobile Device MVP as of today? True. I am still going to be involved with the Windows Mobile Device MVP community, but I am not titled as a Digital Media MVP as of today.
* Would you believe I got a $14,000 bill from the IRS last week? It's in error, but yep. If you work for the IRS, get in touch with me. I gotta figure out what paperwork is needed to prove I already paid taxes on the income they are billing me for.
* Would you believe that there will be a ton of Phone announcements on this day?Yes. It's CTIA time.
* Would you believe that Matt Miller, the Mobile Gadgeteer has a secret obsession for Palm devices.Well, his nickname is Palmsolo :)
These are all not true...
* Would you believe that Windows Mobile 7 will be announced later today?Windows Mobile 6.1
* Would you believe that after all the great work that Susan has done here, she just up and quit on us?She's just taking a break.
* Would you believe that we are finally closing the Aximsite.com side of the house. That's absurd.
* My 5 year old son just passed testing and is now a Black Belt in Taekwodo? Trick Question, he is getting his black belt, but it's not really Taekwondo yet. It's the Tiger Cubs.
* Would you believe that I love Twitter? Not really, but I am finding uses for it. Its a time waster.
* Would you believe that I saw a leaked photo of the T-Mobile iPhone last week. (I dont post rumors) Nope.

Here are my guesses, for whatever they are worth:

true?-> * Would you believe that I am no longer a Windows Mobile Device MVP as of today?
False (WM 6.1 instead?)-> * Would you believe that Windows Mobile 7 will be announced later today?
False (better be!!)-> * Would you believe that after all the great work that Susan has done here, she just up and quit on us?
True-> * Would you believe I got a $14,000 bill from the IRS last week?
False (at least of this moment?)-> * Would you believe that we are finally closing the Aximsite.com side of the house.
True (you don't want his friends reading this and thinking it's true when it isn't!)-> * My 5 year old son just passed testing and is now a Black Belt in Taekwodo?
True ->* Would you believe that I love Twitter?
True (just a guess, but why not?)->* Would you believe that there will be a ton of Phone announcements on this day?
I'm going out on a limb to say True--> * Would you believe that Matt Miller, the Mobile Gadgeteer has a secret obsession for Palm devices.
Hm, I'm going to guess true, because you could have associates in Austria--> * Would you believe that I saw a leaked photo of the T-Mobile iPhone last week. (I dont post rumors)
• Get your guesses in on what you think are jokes or not. I'll be telling all soon.
• Julie
I guess I can't believe half of what I read on the internet today......oh, wait.....isn't that true most every day?
• Zaniax
Thanks for your reference to my little happening today, Chris :)
I couldn't do without you - but now you got me really worried if it turns out not to be joke :o

The ones I believe are (possibly) true:

Would you believe that I love Twitter?
My 5 year old son just passed testing and is now a Black Belt in Taekwodo? ( if he is as smart as his dad, he'll go far)
Would you believe that we are finally closing the Aximsite.com side of the house.( I think it would streamline things for you and make it easier to manage)
Would you believe I got a $14,000 bill from the IRS last week? ( I just love to believe the worst in them)
Would you believe that Matt Miller, the Mobile Gadgeteer has a secret obsession for Palm devices. (that explains alot)
What I refuse to believe
Would you believe that I am no longer a Windows Mobile Device MVP as of today? no
Would you believe that after all the great work that Susan has done here, she just up and quit on us? Say it ain't so!
Would you believe that Windows Mobile 7 will be announced later today? they hold secrets like a sieve, I'd have see more about it before the announcement
• Hmm... I'm nearly 39 and I learn something new every day. Not sure I fit in the "young smart man" category, but "old wise man" doesn't work either. Shoot... now I'm having an identity crisis! ;)
