It\'s is possible that the information within this article is now out of date or updated.

livesearch Live Search has got to be one of my most relied upon applications. I use it every time I travel for GPS, and to locate Hotels and Restaurants. It has truly been a very useful application. Now it looks like the good might get even better with Windows Live Search! That’s right, if you were in attendance at this years CTIA Show in Las Vegas like WMExperts, you may have caught the release. It appears that Microsoft will indeed be updating Live Search with some pretty cool looking new functions. First, and probably most noticeable is the Weather Icon. This would have been very useful for me as I ran into severe weather last week in Tennessee. Live Search will also integrate Web Search and another new function, Collections. Collections looks to be a place to store your more common searches, and mini RSS reader. One lacking function that might catch some flack from Non GPS device users is the lack of locations that Goggle has. Doesn’t really matter for us as we have a pretty sweet GPS included with our Devices!

So  indeed, a nice update to Live Search appears eminent! We’ll definitely keep you posted with more information or possible release date when it is released.

  • Yes they are both freeware, Windows Live Search is bundled with Windows Mobile 6.1. Google Maps is a great download for free, just type maps.google.com/gmm in on your tilt to download.

P.S. Google Maps is one of my favorite apps for the tilt ever.
