User Interface
As you can see in the picture to the right, TunIt.org has a very easy to use attractive User Interface that makes navigating quite easy. After opening the program tap the arrow button in the center which will take you to main screen. The main screen can be modified, but initially appears blank until changed. So starting at the top left, the star icon is where you can locate your saved/favorite radio stations for easy access.
The second icon on the top center is the options settings that is where you can change the main screen to display Favorites, Genres, Nothing, or States. I found it more useful to display my Favorites, but each to their own as they say. The Options screen is also where you can update your station list to make sure you are using the most current station list. Save or cancel when complete.
The third icon on the top task bar from left to right is the “About Us” screen. It contains all the disclaimer stuff and not really much more to see. Tap OK to close. Let’s move on shall we?
Starting now with the “meat and potatoes” of the program, the bottom set of icons are where you can search for radio stations and then save to favorites. So starting with the small blue question mark icon to the right, this is the Help screen that will give you a quick refresher on how to use TunIt.org Radio. Click OK to exit out and return to the main screen.
The middle Advanced icon is the Advanced Search function that allows you to search for radio stations within the 1600 different radio stations available by Callsign, City, City, State, and Genre. This was a very useful for me to locate radio stations by Genre. click Enter or Cancel to exit. Enter will bring up a range of radio stations that fit your search criteria.
Continuing from left to right. The third icon on this row is the Star with green plus sign icon that allows you to save a favorite radio station when highlighted to your favorites list. With 1600 radio stations, this is a very handy way to keep up with your favorites.
The bottom left icon on the screen is the Genre tab which allows you to bring up 49 different Genres to choose from. If you are like me, you’re diggin some 80’s Metal Hair Bands and there is an 80’s tab for you to choose from. Kirk, you’re killin’ me calling the 80’s oldies!
After finding your favorite Genre, tap that icon and it will take you to all of the different US States that currently have Internet Based Streaming Radio Channels to choose from. In my case, the 80’s Oldies tab had two states listed with radio stations.
Tap the Show All icon and it will display all radio stations for you to choose from. Don’t forget to save your favorites for easy access later. The up arrow will obviously return to the prior screen.

Skipping the button in the middle for now which is how you play the radio station you select, the button to the right and last on the bottom row is the US Icon. Tap this button and it will take you to a screen that displays all of the US States, and then that States City’s with Radio Stations available. just like the Genre Screen, you can also tap the Show All Button to see all of the Cities combined radio stations.
Last but not least is the center blue arrow button which is the Play button for a selected radio station. Clicking this button will take you to your default music player. Mine happens to be the HTC Audio embedded in my HTC Home Scree Plug In.
Once you have your radio station playing, you can then navigate away from the player and to another application, or browse the Internet, or whatever you want. Be sure NOT to navigate back to TunIt.org Radio unless you are wanting to swap radio stations. If you do navigate back to TunIt.org Radio, you will have to reselect the radio station again, have it buffer again before you can navigate away and to another application. TunIt.org Radio unfortunately is a full screen application and does not allow you to minimize it. Even tapping the Microsoft button does not work when in the TunIt.org Radio program. Again you will have to reselect a radio station or close the program to navigate out. This is really my only gripe about the user interface. I don’t see the need to have this full screen and makes it difficult to minimize.
Conclusion
I really liked TunIt.org Radio and thought it performed well. I had no trouble traveling with it playing a radio station and switch between Edge and 3G networks. I felt that it had a good mix of radio station content and 1600 radio stations will most definitely have something for even the most picky to listen to. At $14.95 I felt it was fairly priced for what you get in the Program. I would definitely recommend this program to anyone looking for an Internet Streaming Radio Program.
