Walt Mossberg doubles back on 3G iPhone Launch Info

walt-mossberg-3g-iphoneWell, we all jump the gun here and there, but when Mossberg shared on video that the 3G iPhone would launch within 60 days, everyone listened. Why wouldn’t we? Walt has been pretty close with Apple so we are surely going to believe him. I did and posted about it last week.

Well, he went out there and said that on camera and now he’s backtracking on that info…

That said, this is where he convinced us: “If I knew when this date was, why would I announce it in the middle of a sentence at the Finnish embassy, rather than report it in the Wall Street Journal?”

We run rumors here and there too so I can understand running with some info. I still believe Walt though. I feel like he is backtracking at the request of Apple now, but that’s just my conspiracy theory.

    My guess is that this was a slip and he hasn't published it in the WSJ not because he wouldn't want to but because he is under NDA.
