I had terrible volume and sound quality until I found an earbud that completely filled my ear canal. Then both volume and sound quality became fine. I had best luck with a Jabra eargel. (BTW, Aliph customer service was zero help with this.) My experience is that Jawbone (1 andyway, I don't have 2) is REALLY sensitive to the earbud fit.
