There was a problem over the weekend with DNS on our server. I believe I can pass the buck and blame it on the hosting company, but still it affects us all.

If you are catching this via RSS and you can’t bring up the site or the site seems to have missing images and style sheets, you should flush your local machines DNS to resolve. (or just wait it out)

To do this, bring up a dos prompt (in Vista, type CMD in the search box). Type in “ipconfig \flushdns” That’s it, that should clear you up.

Actually the command is ipconfig /flushdns - you got your switches switched
  • Thanks. That makes me feel better. I was having issues late last night and this morning and this fixed it for me. I was really concerned when I got an email from my own server tell ing me there was a DNS issue.

"IMPORTANT: Do not ignore this email.
The hostname (server.leckmedia.com) resolves to . It should resolve to (IP removed). Please be sure to correct /etc/hosts as well as the 'A' entry in zone file for the domain."
  • I saw it on RSS and the site came up fine from work today ... and worked fine on my home Mac all weekend.
