HTC_Touch_Diamond_Keyboard1Well, in less than a week, a user over at XDA Devs has already hacked the Diamond’s rom and extracted the new soft keyboard. This one is somewhat iPhone-ish and there are others out there that are available as well, but if you want the hacked one strait from the HTC Diamond, you’ll have to head over to XDA Devs.

I have not tried this, nor do I think I will, but apparently Malatesta at WM Experts has and he offers a couple tips…

  • install is a bit slow, but normal
  • default language is Italian (change to English in settings)

Here is a cab I created and AllTheWay just tested. It should work fine. It will ask you to reset your device and then it will give you 3 new KB layouts. Touch Diamond Keyborad, Touch Diamond Keypad and Touch Diamond Qwerty. Hope you guys like it.

I downloaded from the link you have, then decompressed folder on PC, then put on SC card, then opened "setup" with File Explorer on my TILT, NOW things appear to be locked up. What am I doing wrong? THANKS

HOW CAN I DOWNLOAD THE WHOLE HTC DIAMOND INTERFACE NOT JUST THE KEYBOARD BUT THE TODAY SCREEN AND THE WEATHER
  • Installed with no issues. VERY good response. Much better than the last two touch Sips I tried. Looks good too.

ps i flashed to duttythroy's latest WM6.1 ROM from xda-devs site before loading the keyboard . highly recommended, if you're adventurous.

got this on my tilt and its fantastic. love that you have the choice between the qwerty keyboard or the keypad, for big fingered folks. xda-devs is an awesome community of geeks! :)

I downloaded and installed this package on my Tilt w/o success. It made my Tilt run VERY slow and when WM6 finally came up, I couldn't get any of the Touch Diamond Keyboards to work.

Once I removed it from my phone, everything was back to normal.

Was the phone a Tilt or a TyNT II that the pictures were taken from?

    Thanks,
    JohnnyB
