HTC ROM Update On e-Club?
This post was published 1 year 5 months 27 days ago.It\'s is possible that the information within this article is now out of date or updated.
I am trying to get caught up with the volumes of blog entries in my RSS Reader and happened along a post from MSMobiles.com. They are saying that the HTC ROM that we have all been waiting for has been released to the HTC e-Club site. I just got done looking around over there and it is apparently not available unless you put in your TyTN II Serial number. Makes Sense because a lot of people have not been able to locate it either. Well, several people are commenting on MSMobiles.com that this update does not contain any drivers and that the screen rotation hang up has been fixed by HTC implementing a double buffer that hides the redrawing of the screen. This makes it appear to be seamlessly transitioning between portrait and landscape without lag even though it is taking the same amount of time as before! I noticed this also with the leaked “Official HTC ROM” I installed.
I also experienced a ton of hang ups that forced me to perform soft resets. I have since dumped this ROM and went back to Dutty’s April 29th ROM and it performs MUCH better. The other thing I noticed with the Leaked Official ROM is that the radio included was terrible. I had a huge problem getting a GPS Fix. Spb Benchmark also came back with graphics errors and the CPU Index was really low.
I’m not sure what I did wrong as some peoples Benchmarks did much better. I will give this ROM a few more chances when I return home from my business travel and can live without the GPS.
I want everyone to know I have only Flashed the Leaked ROM once and did not have a chance to try to re-Flash it and try it again. So I have not given it a complete test yet, but based on the other forum comments, and my bad experience, I thought I would share this with you. Please leave a comment if you Flashed it on how it is working for you. More to come….
