It’s amazing how much speculation can be pulled from within a single one minute video. A couple weeks ago, a video promo for Microsoft showcasing Live Mesh popped up online. In this video, many noticed that a HTC Touch was featured in the video. This Touch had what many suspect to be WIndows Mobile 7. It’s a short clip around the 32 second mark of the video.

Well, that’s not why I am posting today. One of the GotZune.com readers, Jaxim, saw something else odd. I noticed the Zune in the video the couple times I watched it, but didn’t notice what it appears to be hooked up to. Read on for the video and the screen grabs…

In the airport, the father of the little girl gets a live snapshot of his kid playing right. He gets it on a Mac (in a Microsoft video even). Well, after that, he looks down at his Zune that shows that it is syncing. Well, Macbook in his lap and Zune by his side. Hmmm…. (click the images below for larger view)

If you look below the Zune, you will see what looks like a mac accessory as well.

So, does this mean that the Zune is able to sync to the Macs? I know that the screen on the Zune in the video looks like it’s syncing, but it might not be. It might be a static screen too. Who knows. This is all speculation, but it sure is fun to think about it.

Mac and Zune, Laughable, Microsoft cant make that crap work with their on OS, why would Mac users choose to downgrade to a inferior Microsoft product that will NEVER work as advertise and cause other system problems?

I think with Mesh you'll be able to sync (or "mesh") all your digital information between all your devices... WM Phone, Mac, PC, UMPC, Zune. Including music, pictures, videos, Office documents, etc.

If you want to learn more, you can always check out mesh.com or some of the other youtube videos.

Pretty exciting... the video on mesh.com says we'll see them support Macs and mobile phones in the "coming months" so it's possible they will release it as a download for our current WM6 devices!

They should do it! Please, Microsoft, drop the typical "everything must tie in to another product" and get the Mac BU team working on a Mac client!
  • I agree, but it was worth noting. :)
  • Ad agencies use Macs, and you see them in ads for just about everything (as well as on TV shows) dispropotrionate to their market share. I would be surprised if this was real.
