Non-US Phones Part 2 – WILLCOM 03

Now here is one for Japan. This one I think would be a hit in the US though. The color choices are something I feel that US Consumers really want and unfortunately there just are not many Windows Mobile Phones sold in the US with these choices. This one is the Willcom 03. It’s a Slider, Full Qwerty style phone with some serious horsepower and features.

Specs:

  • CPU: Marvell PXA270 520MHz
  • OS: Windows Mobile 6.1
  • Display: 3-inch VGA touchscreen, 65K colors. However, it’s important to add they (+D Mobile) refer to VGA as 480×800 pixels, so it’s WVGA actually!
  • Connectivity: 3G, Bluetooth 2.0, WiFi, IrDA 1.2/IrSS
  • Camera: 2 megapixel with auto-focus (why not more)
  • Mobile TV: One-seg receiver
  • Memory: 256MB ROM, 128MB RAM, microSD expansion slot
  • Dimension: 50×116×17.9 mm, weight: 135 grams
  • Colors: gold, pink, lime

  • I own this phone, in green.
    Yeah, it's nice and does what it needs to, but is very slow at processing, has no options for changing languages from Japanese to English or any other language for that matter, and the camera - not even worth the lens! I still have it and use it as a back up phone, but switched to using the iPhone 3G a couple of months ago. A much better choice.
