Tilit20Comparison Some members over at xda-developers are posting about a new Chip being supplied in some AT&T Tilts. While there was a brief instant of interest, a benchmark was performed and no noticeable difference between the originally supplied Qualcomm 7200 Chip and the new Qualcomm 7201.

Some searches on the Qualcomm 7201 turned up very little, but the Washington post had this to say in a January 8th, 2008 story:

The prototype runs on the 7201 chip, a new chip released recently by Qualcomm, but the design is intended to showcase Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon line of chips. Those chips are now being sampled by hardware vendors, with initial commercial devices expected out this year, he said.

For the full Washington Post story CLICK HERE. The Qualcomm 7201 Chip is most likely to comply with the Patent Infringement Lawsuit that Qualcomm lost against Broadcom. So the bottom line is that there is noting to get too excited about should you notice the 7201 Chip in your AT&T Tilt. It does not appear to perform and better than the originally equipped 7200.
