  • The last PDA with a usable keyboard was probably the the Psion Revo+

Since then even the universal was a major disapointment

I had an HTC Universal, which had an awesome keyboard. I've gotten used to the Tilt's, but couldn't imagine anything smaller. Really looking forward to the Xperia's, because the keys have some space between them.

(I like it for texts and emails, and for keeping detailed notes of my sales calls, entered immediately following in my car or lobby)

I have been using thumbboards for years, first the Tungsten C now the Moto Q. It is essential to me for working with emails, writing blog posts and poetry.

It takes getting used to, but I now need a thumbboard on my devices.
  • kcmat... I can't even do a couple of paragraphs using a device with the HTC slide out keyboard.

BT External keyboards or handwriting recognition are the way to go
  • kcmatt
Can you really hammer out a paragraph in Word on a Blackishberry or Q-ish keyboard?

For that reason, I think my next device will be the Xperia or the Touch Pro (Raphael).

Tried to get on the bandwagon, only it was for Rudy Montana and his Harmonica Lamplighters. Sigh.

I agree completely about the lack of a keyboard on the iPhone being a fact in the lack of good thumbboards in the newer models. This is bad for me, as I absolutely require one now on my phone.

Hopefully the likely success of the Blackberry Bold will cause a new wave of "Blackishberry" phones to hit the market.
  • Likes to be on the bandwagon.
  • lol ... I agree kcmatt. People like being on the bandwagon I guess.

Too bad the iPhone doesn't have a slide-out keyboard... then you'd see all these slick new phones coming out that had them.
